Performing the last movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

Split, Croatia (formerly Spalato): Diocletian's Palace. Many years after the Emperor's death, the local population moved in to the palace as protection from barbarian invaders, and the old town of Split is built right into the former palace.

Roman vaulted cellars lie underneath the buildings of the old town.
