For I Was Hungry, for SSATB chorus, baritone soloist and organ
For I Was Hungry sets the familiar Biblical text in which Jesus (personified by the soloist) tells the people (represented by the chorus) that in showing compassion to mankind, they are showing it to Jesus himself. The piece is dedicated to the choir and conductor of my childhood church in Los Angeles, a compassionate, caring congregation.
