Will of Joseph Gorton
I Joseph Gorton of the town of Friendship County of Allegany and state of New York of the age of seventy seven years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say
First -- I give and bequeth to my grandson Sheridan Gorton (son of Sheridan Gorton) one hundred dollars to be paid to him within one year after my decease by my executor hereinafter named.
Second -- I give and bequeth and devise to my children hereinafter named all my property both real and personal estate to be divided equally share and share alike to Harriet Ann wife of Levi Horner, Fanny wife of Abel T. Reynolds, Orpha wife of Samuel E. Latta, Phebe wife of John Colwell, Susan wife of Robert E. Middaugh, Henry B. Gorton, and Josephus Gorton. Lastly I hereby appoint Henry B. Gorton and Josephus Gorton executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of November 1870.
